Who We Are

Who We AreMission Statement

The Guild of St. Margaret serves the hungry 365 days a year without charge, qualifications or condescension. The volunteers offer relief in food, hospitality, assistance and acceptance for the physical and spiritual nourishment of our guest.

The Guild of St. Margaret is an outreach program of Grace Episcopal Church, a 501 C3. We have been operating continuously since June of 1980 and now serve 2 meals daily on weekdays and 1 meal on Weekend days. Beginning with only a few volunteers preparing peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for those who came seeking help, the soup kitchen now serves an average of 130-160 hot meals daily.

Beginning on June 1, 2012, the soup kitchen had expanded our program to begin serving breakfast Monday through Friday. The hours for the breakfast program were 7:00am – 8:30 am.

2022 UPDATE: Due to the Covid pandemic we have ceased serving breakfast and we are not sure at this time if we will resume this service.

Our current lunchtime hot meal is served at 11:00 am – 12:00 pm Monday through Saturday and 3:00pm – 4:00pm on Sunday.

Daily meals are provided and served by volunteers from all over our community. Funding resources have been provided through grants and donations from The United Way, Episcopal Charities, New York State (HPNAP), Orange County, The Regional Food Bank of Northeast New York, community groups, fraternal organizations, religious organizations, private companies, and individual donations.
